Meets

The national governing body for the sport of swimming is United States Swimming (USA-S).  USA-S is divided into regions of the United States, zones within the region, then leagues and organizations within the zone.  Morgan Hill Swim Club (MHSC) is a member of Zone 1 South of the USA-S Pacific Region (Pacific Swimming).  MHSC is also a member of the Coast Valley Aquatic League (CVAL).

Championship Meets

•   The Coast Valley Aquatic League Championship Meet, known as CVAL's, culminates the summer season and is usually held the second weekend in August.

•   The Zone 1 South Championship Meet is generally held during early January of each year

•   To compete in CVAL's you must compete in at least 1 Tri-Meet

•   10/Under Championships are held in April

USA-S / Pacific Swimming Meets

MHSC in association with USA-S, Pacific Swimming, and the Coast Valley Aquatic League attends many swim meets during the calendar year.  There is generally one or two swim meets scheduled during each month of the year.  Every meet that is selected by the coaching staff has at least one MHSC coach in attendance.  Each year the Pacific Swim Guide lists the meets which are available to our swimmers for competition.  The Head Coach selects which of these meets our team will participate in.  USA-S and Pacific Swimming meets are designated as "C", "B", "A", "AA", or "Junior/Senior" depending on the minimum entry times required for swimmers to enter the meet.

Entering a Meet

Check the Meet Schedule page for the list of upcoming meets.  When a meet is "open" for registration a link is provided so you can print out an informational "meet sheet".  Then the swimmer can register for the meet online.  Entries are normally due two weeks prior to the meet and the entry fee is required at the time of submitting the entry form.  The swimmer must enter his or her times on the entry form and may only enter events that they are qualified for under the above rating/designation system.  Ask your coach if you need any assistance registering.  Be aware that many times a meet will "close" to registration earlier than the stated deadline due to the number of swimmers registering.  Don't wait until the last minute to enter a meet.
